America's TRUE Enemies

 This country's worst enemies are those Americans that use hatred, intolerance, and fear to control the way others think and feel.
 Those that use their wealth to buy elections and media outlets and spread their lies, repeating them over and over until the weak-minded start to believe them. 
 Those that supported an illegal regime in THIS country, then blame all of the problems caused by it on the one came after, who's trying to FIX things. 
 Those that believe that women should have absolutely no control over their own bodies, and who believe that love can and should be legislated by tiny, bigoted minds.

 If America IS destroyed, it will by by Americans who embrace an ideology antithetical to what our founding fathers believed, and to what made this country great.

 If you don't want America destroyed, DEMAND accountability of our elected officials. It is time we take our country back from those who use their elected office to do nothing but enrich themselves at our expense; the ones who enjoy the best healthcare this country can provide, but insist on denying it to the rest of us.

WAY Too Close For Comfort

Isn't it odd how Al Queda and the American GOP are so similar? 
They both seek to control the thoughts, actions, and beliefs of others; 
they both treat their women like slaves, and 
they both go out of their way to drag civilization back to the Stone Age.  
They use hatred and terror to destroy everything they can to hide the fact that they have no new ideas.  
They are both anti-life, anti-thought, and neither of them can figure out how to get their people back to work.
No wonder they hate each other - they're the same.

Global Climate Change Explained

Pay attention, please.
   
  Yes, the planet has been warming for the last two centuries or so.  BUT, human pollution is making it do so an a MUCH FASTER rate than it would normally.  Since we also continue to pollute this planet without pause, the warming rate is speeding up.  We are rapidly approaching the point (if we haven't already passed it) where we will destroy our ability to survive upon this Earth.
   
     The oceans are becoming more acidic, which will kill off many species that humans use for food.        

     Fracking, which is short for hydraulic fracturing, is polluting ground water and even the most mentally deficient person should know that humans can not drink polluted water.  Fracking is also polluting the ground itself, due to the toxic chemicals used in the process, so we will have more and more problems growing the food we need to survive.

     Factory farming is using so many antibiotics to fatten up the livestock, that antibiotic-resistant bacteria are popping up everywhere.
   
     The use of fossil fuels - oil, natural gas, and coal - is putting millions of tons of methane and carbon monoxide, along with many other chemicals,  into our atmosphere DAILY, which traps solar heat on the planet, melting the polar ice caps and drowning our oceans in fresh water, which will disrupt oceanic currents and raise the ocean levels.  Rising ocean levels drowns low-lying areas, where most of the world's population lives, forcing those that live there to move to already-occupied areas.

     This is happening NOW. This is not a "theory", this is FACT.  Anyone who tells you that human-assisted global climate change is a myth has their own agenda and is, in fact, LYING.

     Most human stupidity is of the willful kind.  Humans tend to close their eyes and ears to evidence if it impacts their comfort or their pocketbook.

PROVE IT!

     Hey GOP! Want to prove to me that you're NOT anti-woman? Then tell me what LEGAL medication that DOCTORS prescribe ONLY to MEN do you plan to keep MEN from getting in their health plans? Which MEDICAL procedures prescribed by a DOCTOR for ONLY MEN do you want to outlaw? When will you force MEN to get a colonoscopy every time their DOCTOR prescribes Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra?

     No plans for any of that? Then I name the every single member of the GOP misguided, misogynistic (that's woman-hating), misbegotten hypocrites.

February 14th

To those of you who hate Valentine's Day, listen up:

It is NOT a pointless holiday.  It is a holiday for LOVERS.  We all have times in our lives when we don't have a special someone to share with.  That's life.  It happens to us all.  But what gives you the right to ruin it for those of us who are lucky enough to have someone special?  NOTHING does.

Don't like it?  Fine.  You're entitled.  But shut up about it.  Be happy for those who are in love.  You were there once and will be again, if you let yourself.  Have faith and don't be jealous, which is pretty much what all the bitching boils down to.

Yes, Valentine's Day IS a made-up holiday.  EVERY SINGLE HOLIDAY IS  MADE UP.  No one is saying you need to celebrate this one.

RIP Whitney Houston

She's only been gone a day or so, and already I'm sick to death of hearing about her death.

True, she did have a phenomenal voice.  And was a very good actress.  But she was a complete failure at self-control.

I keep hearing people blame Bobby Brown for her downfall.  But I seriously doubt that he tied her down and forced the alcohol and drugs into her.  She participated enthusiastically on her own.

Someone is quoted as saying, "A light has been dimmed", and maybe that's true.  But in this case, she flicked the switch herself.  And dimmed the light on her daughter's life.

Absolutely CLUELESS

     People in this country are rapidly approaching the end of their rope.  The job situation here in the US is grim, and it's not getting better in any meaningful way anytime soon.  Those of us who have lost our jobs in the manufacturing sector won't be going back to work because the manufacturers are getting tax breaks to outsource our jobs.  Our economy is still teetering on the brink.  People are losing their homes due to malpractice by the mortgage industry.  Wall Street brokers are playing games with investors' money and artificially driving up the price of oil and food for their own profit.  The healthcare industry is driving the cost of even basic healthcare out of the reach of most of the 99%.
   
     So what does John Boehner, Eric Cantor and the GOP concentrate Congressional efforts on?  Taking away all American women's rights to control over their own bodies.  And removing all the remaining protections American workers have left.

     Way to go, you clueless assholes.

     Do your worst.  Neither of you will serve another term.
